Dr. Tayson DeLengocky is double-fellowship trained in Vitreo-Retina Surgery and Neuro-Ophthalmology. He has had great passion for Ophthalmology because his niece was born with bilateral congenital cataracts. Dr. DeLengocky specializes in the treatment of diseases of the Vitreous, Macula, Retina and Optic nerves. His clinical skills include but are not limited to diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity, venous and arterial occlusions, retinal detachment, macular degeneration, papilledema, ischemic optic neuropathy and optic neuritis.  His eminent expertise in laser treatment and vitreo-retinal surgery will allow him to provide the highest quality, leading edge care to his patients.

Being an osteopathic physician, he takes a holistic approach in treating eye diseases. He believes that the vast majority of blindness is treatable and preventable. He places emphasis on cardiovascular exercises, smoking cessation, healthy diet, and nutritional supplement.

Dr. DeLengocky obtained his Bachelor in Biochemistry with Honors at the University of Texas-Austin and completed his medical training at the University of North Texas Health Science Center/ Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He interned and completed his fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology at Michigan State University, and then completed his Ophthalmology Residency at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn and St. John’s Episcopal Hospital South Shore in Far Rockaway, New York.   Dr. DeLengocky completed a 2 year fellowship in Vitreo-retina Surgery at South Texas Retina Consultants in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He is an active member of American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AOCOO-Head and Neck Surgery), American Osteopathic Medicine (AOA), and Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society. He has also served as mentor to premed students through AOA iLearn mentor program.

Dr. DeLengocky was born in Saigon, Vietnam, and grew up in France. He is fluent in English, French, Vietnamese and speaks some Spanish. He currently resides in Peoria and enjoys many activities including Tae-Kwon-Do and tennis.  He has also traveled extensively throughout the US, China and Europe.
