Dr. Jay Mehta is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in corneal transplantation, laser refractive surgery, anterior segment and cataract surgery.
Dr. Jay Mehta graduated from Boston University with honors and then earned his medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine. Following an internship at Swedish Covenant Hospital, he completed his Ophthalmology residency at the State University of New York. Dr. Mehta was awarded a fellowship in Corneal Transplantation, External Eye Diseases and Refractive Surgery at the University of Wisconsin- Madison.
Dr. Mehta has a strong commitment to volunteerism, spending a great deal of time in community education and public screening programs in New York and Massachusetts.
When not involved in patient care, Dr. Mehta enjoys running and bicycling. Originally from the Chicago area, he is very happy to make Central Illinois his home.
